Letter to My Child - Our Story

Choosing a Donor Egg Disclosure strategy is a deeply personal step, rooted in the belief that "I knew you belonged here long before we ever met, but to get you into my arms, I had to find a different path than most." In this episode, I share our "Our Story" letter, which traces the emotional evolution of our family and provides a roadmap for sharing your child's unique beginning with pride and peace.
In this episode, I share a personal donor egg disclosure letter titled "Our Story." It’s the foundational narrative of how our family started—balancing the "genetic beginning" from a donor with the nine months of nourishment and love in my womb.
This is part of our "Letter Series," tracing the emotional evolution from searching for a donor to holding our child. If you’re looking for a heartfelt way to tell your child they are "loved exactly as they are," this episode is for you.

To my dearest child,
I wanted to talk to you about how our family actually started because every family is created a little differently, and I want you to know the real story behind yours.
I knew you belonged here long before we ever met, but to get you into my arms, I had to find a different path than most.
And the thing is, we would never have met unless a kind woman shared the genetic beginning for you that I was missing.
This woman is a special part of our family history, and she always will be.
And to be honest, I am so thankful for her because her help meant that I was able to grow you right here, in my belly, where I nourished you, felt your first kicks against my ribs, and whispered to you before you were even born.
I can't wait to see who you become,
but always remember, honey, you are loved exactly as you are.
And out of all the family stories in the world...
I am so glad this one is ours.
I love you,
Your Mom
